Please read these instructions carefully so you understand how the course works!

The Funny in Florida 4-Hour Basic Driver Improvement Video is approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV), and covers the entire required curriculum on traffic laws and driving safety.

This video course is divided into major topic areas, or "modules." You have the option of watching the entire video in one sitting or, if you prefer, you may choose to watch one or more modules per viewing session. (Please complete an entire module before stopping a viewing session so that the system can track your progress through the course.)

Remember that traffic laws can change over time. Be sure to check out the viewable/downloadable/printable (PDF) "Law Updates" file from your "Student Center" (table of contents) page. This will ensure that you're learning about the latest Florida traffic laws — and that you'll have the knowledge necessary to pass the final exam.

To confirm that you view the entire course, you will be required to observe and report a series of validation answers as you work through the course learning materials. There are fifty (50) validation answers embedded at various points in the video.

Here is an example of a validation answer:

During the video, validation answers will be announced to you in one of three ways:

1. You will see and hear the instructor say the validation answer.
2. You will only hear the instructor say the validation answer.
3. You will read the validation answer as words on the screen.

Whenever a validation answer is presented, be sure to note the answer in the space provided on-screen. You must score 100% correct on the fifty validation answers to proceed through the course. However, if you watch the entire video, you will have no trouble correctly reporting all of the validation answers.

In order to receive credit for completing the course, you must take and pass a comprehensive final exam. The questions presented are randomly pulled from a large bank of questions. You must correctly answer at least forty (40) of the fifty (50) questions presented — 80% — in order to pass.

Once you submit your answers, the final exam is "graded" immediately and you will be presented with the results. You will see the test questions; your answers; and the correct answer, if different from the answer you provided.

If you do not pass, you may attempt the final exam again with a different set of questions.

The final exam for this course is "open book": You may refer to the video while you take the final exam.

After you pass the final exam, your completion is electronically reported to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, and a paper copy of your Certificate of Course Completion is sent to you in the mail (please allow 5 – 10 business days for delivery). It is your responsibility to submit your Certificate to the Clerk of Court office in the county in which you received your citation before your due date.

We also offer expedited shipping as well as an email delivery option (which you can save as a PDF and email to the Clerk of Courts, if your county accepts Certificate submissions by email). If you didn't select a shipping upgrade during registration, you'll have an opportunity to select one of these options after you complete the course.
