IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18, YOU MUST COMPLETE THIS COURSE (TLSAE) BY JULY 31, 2025.

The Florida DHSMV has recently changed the licensing and permit requirements for all individuals under the age of 18 years. The Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) program will no longer be accepted for those under the age of 18 to fulfill the education requirement prior to taking the permit test after August 1, 2025. All individuals under 18 that complete the course by July 31, 2025 will be able to use the TLSAE course to get their driving permit.

There is no time completion requirement for individuals over the age of 18, and you may complete this course according to your timeframe. All individuals over the age of 18 are still required to complete this course in order to get a license in the state of Florida.

The person who is registered for this course, and whose name will appear on the Certificate of Completion, is the person who will complete this course in its entirety, including the final exam. No other person may take this course or assist in its completion. If any other person participates in the completion of this course, all parties involved will be deemed to have committed the crime of perjury, which is punishable by fines, imprisonment, or both.
In order to receive a Certificate of Completion for this course, the student must take a final exam of at least 40 questions and must correctly answer at least 80% of the questions. A student's failure to correctly answer at least 80% of the final exam's course content questions will result in failure of the course, and the course fee will not be refunded.
Students will be asked time-limited validation questions during the course. The validation questions will ask students about themselves and about specific events that happened in the course. A student's failure to correctly answer a time-limited validation question will result in failure of the course, and the course fee will not be refunded.
